Email Archiving for Lotus/Domino
DB2® CommonStore V8.3 integrates records management capabilities and strengthens security, search, and archiving.
Integrated Records Management capability
- means DB2 CommonStore for Lotus® Domino® tightly integrates with DB2 Content Manager V8.3, the Records Enabler component, and DB2 Records Manager.
- automates declaration and classification of email or attachments as corporate records
- lets Lotus Notes® users manually declare and classify an e-mail message or attached document as a corporate record.
HTTPS support prevents unauthorized access to critical data while it is sent to or received from the CommonStore server.
DB2 CommonStore extends the use of DB2 Content Manager as a corporate content management infrastructure. Storing messages in Content Manager -- with other types of content -- makes the content reusable by other applications. Storing content in Domino XML (DXL) format permits sharing your e-mail archive with any application while preserving its Domino Native format.
Other Content Manager based enhancements to archive and retrieval include:
- single instance store and compression to reduce storage consumption
- flexible component archiving to records enable email
- full text indexing and search on attributes, message body and attachments
- annotation support (highlighting, markup, etc) through Content Manager eClient integration
Support for more than 600 storage devices includes IBM® TotalStorage® DR550 systems, EMC Centerra, Netapps NearStore and many others provides flexibility to deploy the device that is most appropriate for the content lifecycle.
Crawler enhancements deliver increased scalability and configuration flexibility. Policies can be assigned to user/group sets and those working sets are then assigned to one or more crawler tasks. This increases flexibility and scalability while at the same time making the crawler configuration more consistent in terms of how database and user/group sets are related to their respective policies and crawler tasks.
DB2 CommonStore for Lotus Domino V8.3 is priced per Authorized User, providing simplicity and a lower entry point. |
